Jamaican me CRAZY...

Forgive me friends for I have been busy. It has been 6 days since my last post. haha...that is funny to me and I am not even Catholic.

This weekend is the wedding. Deirek's brother, Colby, is getting married. I love any occasion that brings D's family into town. I really love those folks. Jaxen is the ring bearer. We tried his tux on a couple of nights ago. It is so funny how he knows that he is dressed up. He was really strutting his stuff (whatever that may be). He looks like my little penguin. I will post some pics after the wedding.

We bought a new van last week. It is wonderful. I am proud at how we haggled and didn't pay more than we wanted. (well...not too much more) I am just glad that I don't have to spend another minute in the lobby of a car dealership. After 3 hours at one place...a girl can go crazy!

D has been talking a lot about Jamaica this week. It really got me wanting to go back. I guess I will start saving my pennies. Here are a few pics of our Jamaica trip that I thought I would share.

BLOWOUT!!

We had an eventful evening last night. Jaxen had a blow out diaper in his car seat. I didn't notice it until I pick him up and put him on my hip. Needless to say....IT WAS EVERYWHERE.

It was all down the front of my shirt and pants. All over his shorts and shirt. Heck...it even got on my purse.

Dang Apple juice!!

It has been a LONG time since he had one that bad.

Ugh...the joys of parenting.

My beautiful family

The tiger cub is not part of my family...just in case you were wondering. Deirek is not choking the poor little cub. He was just trying to hold up its head. Jaxen did a good job gently petting the tiger. He wasn't quite sure what to think about this cutie.

"eee haw, eee haw"

We went to the Jersey County Fair on Sunday July 13th. Jaxen had a blast riding all the kiddie rides. Actually, he would scream and throw an embarrassing tantrum everytime I had to pry him off of the ride after his turn was over. He seriously thought he was hot stuff driving the hot rod car round and round the circle. Bless my little sister's heart, she crammed her long legs in the car with him so he wouldn't be in any danger. (she looks really thrilled as you can see) Hayden had a good time too. He didn't quite understand that he had to stay next to Grandma Kelly.

Mommy got in on the action too. Jaxen and I had fun going down the Super Slide. The only sucky part was climbing up ALL those stairs with a 30 lb little boy in my arms. It was all worth it. I honestly believe that the heavier you are the faster you go on the slide. And....boy did we fly!!!

The entire time he was on the Merry-go-round he was saying "eee haw, eee haw". I guess that is supposed to be Yee Haw, but instead he kind sounded like a donkey. I think we are going to have to work on that.

After all the Pronto Pups (corn dogs), Kettle corn, Lemon shake ups and funnel cakes, we were ready to leave. Besides it was 9 pm and that is and hour past Jaxen's bedtime....but he was surpisingly good. He just kept repeating over and over "Ride, Ride, Ride, Ride..."

HELLO PRONTO PUPS, LEMON SHAKE UPS and FUNNEL CAKES

On July 4th, we went to watch the fireworks show in Jerseyville. Jaxen did surprisingly well. He would say "Boom, Boom" when the fireworks made loud noises. Although we had fun, it was a bit to late for my little sleepy angel. He was struggling to keep his eyes open about mid way through the show.

We bought this pool for Jaxen at Walmart. It was a pretty good buy. He absolutely loves it. He has mastered the slide and the "roll" stroke. This sure does surpass anything I had at that age. We would swim (okay more like soak) in a small metal tub out in the middle of the yard in blazing sun when I was a kid. Boy how things have changed.

Tonight, we are headed to the Jerseyville Parade (if the rain holds off). This is Jaxen's first parade. He is going to get a kick at people throwing candy at him. I just hope he doesn't throw one of his tantrums when he is not aloud to eat all the candy. Boy he sure can be independent lately. The Jersey County Fair is in town this week...HELLO PRONTO PUPS, LEMON SHAKE UPS and FUNNEL CAKES. I believe this will be a Weight Watchers nightmare. (Who am I kidding...I haven't been dieting!!! BUT I SHOULD BE!)
